  • This is Africa, i'm i safe?

To answer your question, YES YOU ARE SAFE! Africa is just good a place as any, yes there are always general safety precautions in any country. We choose our destination with utmost care and we can safely say that there is generally no safety concerns in our destinations. Plus , we have local community managers at the house who can offer tips on some dos and don'ts.

  • What health information do i need to know? Do i need any vaccines before staying at wisinomad?

The most common vaccination you may need would be yellow fever vaccine. Vaccination depend on where you are coming from and sometimes your flight route or long layovers. Generally, if you are coming from a country or region deemed to be a yellow fever risk destination according to WHO categories , then yes , you will need to prove that you were vaccinated against yellow fever before entering a yellow fever free zone. Also sometimes long layovers in a yellow fever zone may be deemed as enough reason to require proof of vaccination. Currently, our destinations are deemed to be yellow fever free.

  • Can i book for short stays?

Unfortunately, at the moment we are only taking a minimum of monthly stays. We highly recommend longer stays actually , our general cycle is 3 months but one month stays are also welcome.

  • Does the fee include excussion/safari costs?

No, the monthly fee does not include weekend excursions fee as this is deemed to be a personal expense. Places like victoria falls usually have high volumes of international tourists and many activities tend to be a bit on the steep side hence we encourage people to budget a minimum of US$600 for a weekend stay, food and one or two activities at the victoria falls. Our community manager will brief you up on recommended budget for every destination.

  • Is taking part in the activities compulsory?

Activities are not compulsory at all. Only those who interested in a particular activity can attend. However, in the name of group spirit, we encourage people to make an effort to attend as a group.

  • How do i pack for African climate and what stuff should i bring along?

This depends on the time of the year as well as region. Winter is not very cold but our summers can be quite hot. You should definitely bring binoculars, camera, boots and sunscreen lotion.

  • Are you a for profit organisation and how do you manage to keep your costs so low ?

While we consider ourselves a for profit entity, we are also a social driven organization. We are a profit seeking venture but we keep our prices low by working with different corporate sponsorships who help us subsidize our costs and keep our charges low, enabling us to achieve impact in the communities we serve.

  • Who qualifies to take part in the wisinomad program

Anyone who can work remotely. The only prerequisite is that you bring work. As much as we seek fulfilling experiences in the program, all this is done during spare time. We are not on holiday therefore, it is important that everyone in the group brings work so as to balance the house vibe.

  • Where exactly is this taking place?

We are a pan African venture and we aim to start in the region of Southern Africa. However, for 2024 we are just running our program in Zimbabwe. All information on the websites relates to Zimbabwe as of now.

  • Who is your target audience?

Our program is designed for anyone who is seeking personal and professional growth while making an impact. We target mostly social entrepreneurs and anyone who wants a new experience.
