Over the last 10 years, the African startup ecosystem has undergone a remarkable transformation. From humble beginnings to a thriving landscape, the continent has witnessed an explosion of innovation, entrepreneurship, and growth. In 2014, the African startup scene was still in its infancy, with few success stories and limited funding opportunities. Fast forward to 2024, and the narrative has changed dramatically.

African startups have also made a significant impact on the global stage, with companies like Andela, Flutterwave, and Jumia achieving international recognition by being top 2 African startups to reach IPO as of 2024. The continent’s entrepreneurial spirit has been fueled by a growing pool of skilled talent, improved infrastructure, and a increasing demand for innovative solutions to local challenges. The African space is flooded with daily challenges in areas such as health, mobile tech, energy , fintech to name but a few. We choose to see these challenges as opportunities waiting to be tackled by innovative thinking and collaboration.

Our program with local entrepreneurs
The wisinomad program has a vibrant entrepreneurial mission, we aim to connect the next generation of African entrepreneurs to global mentorship and capital. In this regard we will be launching an Africa Focused fund focusing on funding tech driven and impact based ideas across different African markets. Our core focus is Impact investments hence our high interest in impact ventures. We will be supporting innovative solutions that drive positive change in African communities by investing in startups and ventures that address pressing social and environmental challenges.
On the other hand, we also connect global social entrepreneurs to African markets, this offers mutual benefit to all participants in the program. Main benefits being :
