About The Instructor Robyn
Robyn teaches a combination of traditional Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga. Through inspiration and encouragement from family and friends, Robyn decided to further her journey with yoga in India, where she completed the first 200 hrs, followed by a 500hr Teachers Training Course. She studied multiple yoga styles including; traditional Hatha Yoga as well as the more dynamic Vinyasa style yoga, along with various Pranayama and Meditation techniques, and the beautiful philosophy of Yoga. She finds it to be so rewarding to share this knowledge passed on from trustworthy and qualified teachers.
She is inspired in every class she teaches, by students whom she considers family, to new students who become friends. Yoga inspires her daily life to be a better version of herself and to lead classes in the essence of peace, with passion, authenticity, and grace.
Classes
Hatha
Gentle, basic yoga classes with no flow between poses. Expect a slower-paced stretching-focused class with some basic pranayama breathing exercises, with relaxation and/or meditation at the beginning or end of each class. Hatha classes are a good place to work on your alignment, learn relaxation techniques, and become comfortable with doing yoga while building strength and flexibility.
Vinyasa
Commonly referred to as flow yoga. A type of yoga that links movement and breath to attain balance in the mind and body. From the Sanskrit “to place in a special way,” vinyasa aligns a deliberate sequence of poses with the breath to achieve a continuous flow. Vinyasa classes offer a variety of postures and no two classes are ever alike.
Restorative
Is the centering of your breath and body – aligning the physical and mental by practicing stillness or gentle movement for extended periods of time. It’s about slowing down and opening the body through passive stretching. If you take a restorative class, you may hardly move at all, doing just a few postures in the course of an hour. During these long holds, your muscles relax deeply. It’s a completely different feeling from other types of yoga classes since props are used to support your body instead of your muscles.
